Ok, we know we have a lot of very wonderful friends, and we take none of them for granted, but Chris, Kelly, Lisa and Tom are truly fabulous peeps. They showed at 10 this morning and cranked it out, done by 4.

There isn’t a square millimeter of space in the truck, there was even room for all the halloween decorations (oh thank you EVER so much). And even Cole Porter got in on the action, well, sort of, he mostly stole bites of pizza and napped in the back of the car . . .

We’re knackered, and looking forward to a burger with Chris and Kelly before we pick Jason’s mom and dad up from the airport. Thanks guys, we love all four of you SO very much –

Loading day . . .

It’s saturday morning – we’ve been awake since pre-dawn. We had a super evening out yesterday with Kelly, Chris, Matt, Lisa, Tom, Paula, Josh, Kat, Shannon, Sara – ate some wings, had some beer . . . a nice note to go out on.
This morning has consisted of packing the electronics and getting things organized for the beer posse’, who are due any moment to load the truck. We had a moment of drama yesterday when we were informed that it’s not just against policy, but actually illegal to load a motor vehicle on the moving truck (we had intended to put the motorcycles on the truck), but with a quick call to Penske, we learned we can load them as long as all the fuel is drained, so Jason gets to suck gas in a few minutes – standby for the barfing.
I have to finish boxing the miscellaneous crap and get my Mac in her protective box for the trip. The next update will be from Jason’s laptop on the road!

Friends – This is a big day, Jason is done with work and taking a final, my last day of work is today, the moving truck gets picked up at noon . . . there’s no turning back!
We want to send a really heartfelt thank you out to those who are reading this – we know how blessed we are to have so many loving and committed friends and supporters – the outpouring of love, festivities, travel cash, cards, letters, get-togethers has made us equally happy and sad, but especially has served to remind us that we’re loved no matter where we are or what we’re doing, so thank you for that affirmation.
We’re going to attempt to hit life’s highlights here on the blog, so check back for pictures and updates. Don’t be alarmed if you see a multitude of corncob pipe pictures, we haven’t taken up pipe smoking – I’ll share the pipe story from the road, it’s pretty funny, and will be a loving shout out to the wit and talent of my friend and colleague, Ben McCullar, and the blondeness of my best friend Paula O’Neal.
